Interlibrary Loan

Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

The Denver Public Library board understands the necessity of cooperation with other networks to provide the materials needed to to our patrons. The library participates in Northeast Iowa Library Service Area, the state funded program Access Plan for ILL, SILO (State of Iowa Libraries Online), and First Search.

Materials can be ordered for a patron through Interlibrary Loan with the following guidelines:

1.) The library may enforce a limit to the number of items requested at one time by a patron.

2.) Patrons must return interlibrary loan materials on the date which they are due.

3.) The patron will be asked to pay any accumulated fine for interlibrary loan books or the cost of replacement if lost as charged by the borrowing library.

4.) Materials obtained through interlibrary loan for school purposes will not be exempt from fines.

5.) The patron is responsible for the safety of all interlibrary loan materials once they are in his/her possession.

Interlibrary Loan Charge:

The Denver Library Public Library will begin charging a fee for interlibrary loan service beginning on January 1, 2016. Patrons will be charged $2.00 per interlibrary loan book to help defray the cost of postage. Postage fee must be paid before the book is picked up. The postage fee will be applied to all books, whether for school or personal use.
