Guest speaker Linda McCann will discuss her book about World War II and Iowa Prisoner of War camps. There were about 25,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war in Iowa during WWII. Algona and Clarinda were the main camps, but there were about 17 branch camps throughout Iowa. McCann was able to talk with people who knew these prisoners, and she will share their thoughts and stories.
